Searching for Equality in the Constitution: The Continued Necessity of the Equal Rights Amendment?

On Friday, October 28, Ronald Rotunda will join Professor Andrew Koppelman and Colleen Connell, Executive Director, American Civil Liberties Union of Illinois, for a panel discussion moderated by Interim Dean Kimberly Yuracko. Presented by the Northwestern Journal of Law and Social Policy, the panel discussion will take place in Booth Hall at noon. Lunch will be served.

Federalist Society Week

Please join us for two exciting events during Federalist Society week at Northwestern.

On Monday, Jordan Lorence of the Alliance Defense Fund will speak on the Bronx House of Faith Case and the First Amendment. The event will be held in room RB140 at Noon.

On Tuesday, Clark Neily, Senior Attorney with the Institute for Justice, will speak on Judicial Engagement. The event will be held at 4 PM in room MC195.

Upcoming Events

Please join us for three exciting afternoon events next week.

On Tuesday, October 18, Professor John Kunich will speak at 4 PM in MC195 on "Banning Blasphemy: The Global War on Free Speech." Professor Kunich visited Northwestern in the spring to speak on environmentalism, and we are happy to welcome him back.

On Wednesday, October 19, Tim Lynch will speak at 4 PM in MC195 on the War on Drugs. Mr. Lynch is the Director of the Project on Criminal Justice at the Cato Institute.

On Thursday, October 20, Mike Paulsen will speak at 4 PM on the topic, "Captain James T. Kirk and the Enterprise of Constitutional Interpretation."

All events will include free food.

Dan Subotnik: Wednesday at 4 pm in MC195

Please join us on Wednesday, October 5 at 4 pm in MC195. Professor Subotnik will be speaking on the topic, "Speaking Honestly About Race and Gender In Law School." Lunch/Dinner will be served.

Dan Subotnik is currently a Professor of Law at Touro Law. He earned his JD at Columbia, and worked in the investment banking field prior entering academia, teaching courses on business and law at institutions including Northwestern Law.
